Deputy Principal for the AST Operations at Valloxskolan, Knivsta Municipality

Valloxskolan is now seeking an engaged and driven deputy principal for our AST operations (Autism Spectrum Disorder). The position is a full-time combined role and includes responsibilities within Valloxskolan's primary school F-6 and our Autism Spectrum Group (AST), starting in October HT 2026 or by agreement.

About the AST Operations

Knivsta's municipal autism spectrum group (AST) is a special educational group for students primarily with difficulties within the autism spectrum.

Here we work in a structured, relational, individual manner with strong student health competence. The operations are an important part of the municipality's overall support structure and are led by the principal and deputy principal in close collaboration.

Your Mission

As a deputy principal, you will:

• Be part of the school's management organization and work closely with the principal in daily operational and pedagogical leadership.
• Lead, support, and coordinate staff in both the AST operations and Valloxskolan's regular activities.
• Drive development work related to AST and contribute to the school's overall quality work.
• Collaborate with the student health team, guardians, and external actors.
• Be responsible for planning, follow-up, and analysis of the operations' results.
• Work with scheduling, resource allocation, and organizational issues in dialogue with the principal.
• Contribute to creating clear processes, stability, and a safe working environment.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Teaching certification, preferably with a focus on F-6 or 1-7.
• Several years of experience as a primary school teacher (approximately 10 years or more).
• Special education degree, preferably with a focus on literacy and writing development or NPF.
• At least 5 years of experience as a special education teacher.
• Experience with student health teams and preferably a coordinating or leading role within student health.
• Documented experience in school development, collegial guidance, and implementation of training initiatives.
• A strong ability to work in a structured manner, build sustainable processes, and contribute to safe learning environments.
